How many days does it take to create a habit?
The answer according to various studies is 21. So how about making a commitment to focusing on the good for 21 days?
What could you lose?
Nothing.
What might you gain?
A perspective that could very well catapult you towards the life that you truly desire!
News Fast: Mental Health Diet, Day 1
Commit to participating in a news fast (what about calling it “news out”?) during this period. So basically if the first thing you do in the morning is turn on the news, browse your favorite news sites online, turn your TV on to have the news on in the background as you get ready or listen to the news in your car on the way to work…STOP!
These days, we are inundated with information, both good and bad. If you choose to focus on all of the good information that is out there as well as on the things that you can control, you will be in a much better position to work towards your goals and dreams. You won’t second guess yourself as a result of listening to all of the negativity surrounding us.
You decide what you will and won’t tap in to. Since the dawn of time, there have been those spreading their opinion about the rapidly approaching end of time.
The people that lead happy productive lives are those that…
a) focus on the good in their lives,
b) focus on what they can rather than can’t control and
c) focus positively on where they want to be while being ever so thankful for where they are.
If you come up with something that really helps you to leap forward in a positive way, leave your comments.
