Each year many trends appear relating to health and fitness. People are constantly looking for the easy way out of putting in some hard work with their fitness and healthy eating.  Too many people are impatient and want to lose weight ASAP.

One of the latest crazes which seems to be extremely popular, especially in America, is to go on a juice fast for a number of days to “detox” your body.   It is never good to fast your body and starve for too long.   Juicing can be a great way to eat your needed fruits and vegetables.

Juicing is all the rage among celebrity doctors and A-list celebrities such as, Gwyneth Paltrow, who puts her body on a detox every couple of months. Although celebrities tend to influence much of what people follow with their health and fitness regimes, this doesn’t always mean that they are right.

Scientists argue that going on a juice fast is unnecessary for ridding you of toxins as your liver and kidneys are already effective at eliminating any unneeded waste. But, is it really the toxins as to why people go on these juice fasts? Or is it because of the instant pounds shed off your body due to the lack of ‘normal food.’

The answer is unknown but surely there is no harm in mixing up a few healthy juices to consume for a few days to benefit your body, hair and skin.   The amazing nutrients from fresh fruits and vegetables is always a good thing.  But, you also need to eat the necessary fats and proteins to round out a healthy diet.

To give you a bit of inspiration for some tasty juices that you can mix together, take a look at the following delicious and super healthy recipes:

Best Face Forward:

  • 1 cucumber
  • 1 parsnip
  • 2-3 carrots
  • 1/2 lemon, peeled
  • 1/4  green pepper, seeded

*Cucumber and bell pepper are good sources of silicon which is recommended to strengthen skin hair and nails. Studies show that foods high in silicon reduce signs of ageing, improving thickness and reducing wrinkles!

The Go-To Recipe:

  • 3 Apples
  • 2 Carrots
  • 2 Celery Stalks

*Celery is a diuretic that can help the body shed water retention. It is also a great source of naturally occurring sodium, which can help the body maintain its careful balance while you are fasting. Carrots are high in Vitamin A and make the juice taste sweet. Apple juices aid in digestion, the eradication of bodily toxins, and regulation of blood sugar and even blood pressure.

For those who often follow a tough work out regime, it isn’t best to regularly work out during fasting.  But, if you are planning on replacing a meal with a shake, then why not use recipes by Kinetica Sports which features tasty shake recipes using their Whey protein which helps your muscles, body and repair.
